If you've never heard about Mesker or his Evansville manufacturing firm, look him up on the web.You'll learn that from the 1880s through almost 1920, the company created about 5,000 metal building fronts made of sheet metal and cast iron (advertised as "fireproof, instantly turning your building into a work of art, and rock-bottom cheap"), selling 2,000 facades in Indiana. 

 

To veriy a Mesker, look for the manufacturers stamp, usually somewhere on the front not far off the ground.
